I have over 30 years experience in the health insurance and benefits business. I've worked for large and small insurance carriers with management roles in sales, communications, marketing, business development, product development and project management.

Besides my Medicare related background, I have extensive experience in the employer group, government and individual consumer segments.

Medicare related experience

• understanding how Medicare works and how to apply for benefits;


• understanding the options that are available to help cover out-of-pocket costs that Medicare doesn't cover (like the 20% Part B Outpatient Services coinsurance;)


• enrolling in the plans and programs that best match their health, provider and financial needs.

This process usually takes two appointments: 1) basic Medicare education and options and 2) decision making and enrollment.

Additionally, I can help clients find solutions to meet other needs like vision and dental programs.

As a Medicare beneficiary myself, I walk in my clients' shoes. I strive to keep up with Medicare benefit changes, regulations, etc. Each year, prior to open enrollment, I'm required to update my Medicare related certifications to be able to represent each carrier that I choose to work with.

I've been licensed since 1989 and can write business in the state of Texas with concentration in the greater DFW geographic area. I'm a memeber of the Dallas Association of Health Underwriters as well as the National Association of Health Underwriters. Participation in these associations is a great way to stay current on changes in Medicare and the health insurance industry.

In addition to my Medicare related insurance business, I also accept short or interim term consulting projects in the insurance industry nationwide.

I've completed consulting engagements for both regional and national carriers that included competitive analysis, new insurance trend research, complex writing assignments, RFPs and project management.
